The radio play is among the oldest of the modern dramatic structures, and though some have proclaimed it a dying art form, out moded first by motion pictures and then television, it is in deed alive and well today.

The trick of writing radio drama is finding cleaver ways to use sound to tell your story instead of having your characters constantly extemporizing, telling the audience what is happening.
